As an athlete, it’s super important to work hard and eat right! But guess what? You can also have a little fun with sweet treats sometimes! Let’s find out how to balance healthy eating with some delicious treats🎉

 

📅 How Many Treats Are Optimal?

  • Treat Meals: Aim for 1-2 big cheat meals each week!

  • Sweet Treats: Enjoy 2-5 smaller treats weekly. 🍩


 

⏰ Best Time to Eat Something Sweet

After You Work Out! Eating treats like chocolate chip cookies right after exercising helps your muscles recover!

🍪 Yummy, Healthy Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup almond flour

  • 1/4 cup coconut flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/3 cup coconut oil (or butter)

  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 egg (or flax egg for vegan option)

  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (Hu chocolate chips option)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. 🧑‍🍳

  2. Mix almond flour, coconut flour, baking soda, and salt in one bowl.

  3. In another bowl, whisk melted coconut oil, maple syrup, vanilla, and egg.

  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients to make dough.

  5. Fold in dark chocolate chips. 🍫

  6. Scoop dough onto the baking sheet and flatten each cookie a bit.

  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.

  8. Let cool and enjoy! 🎉
