Athlete Results & Reviews from Sports Nutrition 2Go

Real results from athletes who worked with Dawn Weatherwax, RD, LD, LAT, ATC, CSCS, USA's #1 Fueling Expert for Athletes Under 18, at Sports Nutrition 2Go in Liberty Township, Ohio. Olympians, NFL players, a Pro Football Hall of Famer, state champions, and college athletes in football, soccer, baseball, basketball, volleyball, swimming, cross country, track and field, golf, and lacrosse.

These are standout results, chosen to show what is possible. Every athlete is different. Results vary significantly with age, genetics, growth, training phase, effort, and how consistently the plan is followed, so many athletes see smaller changes.

I can't recommend her services enough!” Melissa Black, Google review

“Dawn was an exceptional speaker for our Seton High School cross country team retreat. She is engaging, knowledgeable, and very in tune with young athletes. Her tips and guidance on how to properly fuel for better performance will help us so much this season. The passion and humor she used in delivering the information really captured the girls’ attention. We highly recommend Dawn for high school athletes.” Heather Hutchinson, Google review

“I started up with Dawn about last December at around 175lbs and I am a pitcher so that weight doesn’t correlate. She worked with me and now I got up to 200lbs this July. I would highly recommend!” Luke Micunek, Google review

“Our daughter is a multi sport athlete. She often plays two sports simultaneously. We were concerned with how tired and drained she was from this. Dawn evaluated her and created a plan for her nutrition and resistance training goals. Prior to this plan she was finishing middle of the pack in her track meets. After implementing Dawn's plan for her, she resulted in league champion! It absolutely works!” Tara Barr, Google review

“I can’t recommend Dawn highly enough! She was amazing. She came and talked to the track teams and parents about sports nutrition. I would highly recommend her. If you are serious about improving your performance please contact her she is a game changer!” Jason Lammers, Google review

“The tests and nutrition menus can seem like a lot of information... that’s because it is! BUT it is so important for your health and getting to the next level as an athlete. Dawn really helps you throughout each assessment and test you take (look at the website to see what she has available).” Jocey Willis, Google review

“Dawn has been a huge help to my daughter Lucy. Last spring when we first visited Dawn, Lucy's running times were tanking and we did not know what to do. She was ready to give up her dreams of running in college altogether. After following Dawn's guidance over the past 6 months I am delighted to say that Lucy's running form has returned. This fall she qualified for the state cross country meet and she is deciding between numerous offers to continue her running career at the collegiate level. Thank you Dawn!!!” Dann Marketos, Google review

“Dawn has been a great help to my daughter! She worked with my daughter on meals before and after her sports. My daughter is sleeping better, less fatigued and performing great. Highly recommend Dawn!” Erin Voss, Google review

“Dawn is fantastic! She has an encyclopedic knowledge of sports nutrition but is able to break that knowledge down into digestible chunks for people like me. I love her enthusiasm and passion for helping others and feel that I always come away from our interactions with the tools to keep active and healthy. I still use the meal plan she wrote for me when I was preparing for my first Ironman 12+ years ago because it works. I'm currently training for my 7th marathon this fall at age 47. Dawn is a life-saver!!” John Quinn, Google review

“Dawn is a kind, dedicated, and intelligent professional who is excellent at her job! I have heard her speak several times, and always come away impressed. “Got me in quick and did a very thorough body eval and diet recs. Excited to see the progress! Great experience!” Matthew Ellsworth, Google review

“I cannot say enough great things about Dawn and the work she has done with our baseball program @ Moeller High School. The nutritional platform and guidance she’s provided for our players as freshmen has continued throughout their high school career and into college as well. If you’re serious about your physical development as an athlete, call Dawn and she’ll help guide you to your goals!!” Chris Booth, Google review

“Dawn is extremely helpful, and gets to the point. She is super fun, and easy to talk to. An absolute professional that can help you iron out issues, or make some good lifestyle changes. I would recommend her to anyone searching for a nutritionist.” Carson Leach, Google review

“I find Dawn to be very knowledgeable both in exercise science and nutrition. There is certainly a lot of bang for buck here, as the services that I was provided coupled with our counseling session has really made me a more complete athlete. Everything from discussions about calories, macronutrients, supplements, and more. I've recommended Dawn to some friends/family, and plan to use her services again in the future.” Wayne Odell, Google review

“Dawn was fantastic! I’m a personal trainer and want to maintain the physique of an athlete as I approach my 50s. The session with Dawn was so informative and very eye-opening. I have been running on fumes for a long time, and with just a few tweaks to my nutrition my energy levels are through the roof in a matter of days! Thank you, Dawn!” Shelby Birdwell, Google review

“Sometimes high schoolers are nervous about seeing a nutritionist. But Dawn is down to earth and not intimidating for my athletes. Very knowledgeable!” Richard Shomo, Google review

“I'm active in Obstacle Course Racing (specifically Spartan) and decided to meet with Dawn as I was having trouble with bonking during races. She completed a variety of tests to get baselines to work from. The menu that she created for me has provided me with a path to achieving my goals. The first test was to complete a Trifecta weekend without any issues. She gave me a detailed plan to follow for the week leading up to and during the event to improve my performance. It worked great! After completing the Beast (half marathon) on Saturday it was the best I have ever felt in the 5 years of racing! Dawn is very knowledgeable and no doubt will be able to improve your performance!” Ryan Tekulve, Google review

“Came in for Bod Pod and RMR tests to give me a baseline to try to track my improvements. Dawn was great! She provided me with a lot of great info. She explained food science and why/how our body needs and uses nutrients. Looking forward to coming back in for additional tests in the future.” Roger Tackett, Google review

“I went to get a Bod Pod assessment. Dawn sat me down after and explained what I needed to do to improve my body composition. She took her time and explained the importance of everything and why I should do it. She didn't try to upsell me, she just did the assessment. I'm going back again soon.” Jim Whittenburg, Google review

“I have to say I was a little reluctant to spend the $$ for my consult but it was worth every cent. I gained insight into my body (body fat and thigh glycogen stores) and Dawn gave me a specific diet. After 4 months I went from a "fat" 186 to a lean 167 and feel great. Thanks, Dawn.” Jonathan Van Zile, Google review

Athlete Results & Reviews | Sports Nutrition 2Go

Does sports nutrition actually help young athletes perform better?

Yes. Every athlete on this page improved by changing what, how much, and when they ate and drank. Jocelyn, a 12-year-old swimmer, posted a best time in at least one event every month for nine months straight. Grace Hartman ran 40 seconds faster after two weeks of eating more. Aneesh Vyas gained over 70 lb of lean weight and played college football.

How do I know if my athlete is under-fueling without realizing it?

The most common signs in these stories were constant tiredness, times or lifts that stopped improving, trouble gaining weight, stomach issues, and repeated injuries or illness. Many of these athletes were eating far less than their training, growth, and competition required, and nobody knew until it was checked. The Know Your Fuel Zone quiz is launching soon as a free first check.

My athlete does everything right but isn’t improving. Could it be fuel?

Often, yes. Brayden Rice had heavy legs and a disappointing season, then signed with a Division 1 program four months after the fueling was fixed. Nolan Hicks ran a PR and made New Balance Nationals six weeks later. The effort was already there; the fuel had to catch up.

What can a sports dietitian actually do for my athlete?

A sports dietitian measures what your athlete’s body actually needs, finds the fuel gap, builds a food-first plan around the training and competition schedule, and retests to see what changed. A good one also refers out when something is medical. That is how Dawn Weatherwax, RD, LD, LAT, ATC, CSCS, works with every athlete on this page. See the nutrition services page.

When should we see a sports dietitian instead of figuring it out ourselves?

See a registered/licensed dietitian when your athlete can’t gain weight or muscle, stays tired, keeps getting hurt or sick, has stomach issues around training, or has stopped improving despite hard work. Absent or irregular periods, stalled growth, or stress fractures should go to a physician first.

What is the Performance Profile?

The Performance Profile is the testing package most athletes on this page started with: a nutrition consult, blood work and supplement review, body composition, metabolism testing, and a MuscleSound Fuel Scan. Athlete Sweat Sodium Testing is booked separately. See the services page.

How does testing show what my athlete needs?

Each test answers one question. Metabolism testing shows how much energy your athlete burns. Body composition shows whether lean weight is moving, not just the scale. The MuscleSound Fuel Scan shows whether the muscle is fueled. Sweat testing shows how much sodium your athlete loses. Blood work catches what a food log can’t show.

How long before we see results?

It varied from athlete to athlete. Malcolm Jenkins felt a difference in 10 days, Grace Hartman ran 40 seconds faster after two weeks, Nolan Hicks made Nationals after six weeks, and Evan Weyler gained 18 lb of lean weight in four months.

Will my athlete get the same results?

Not necessarily. These are standout results, and every athlete is different: results vary with age, genetics, growth, training phase, effort, and how consistently the plan is followed. What stays the same is the process: test, find the fuel gap, fix it with food first, and retest.

Can a teen athlete gain muscle safely?

Yes, with enough total food, protein spread through the day, and a plan built for a growing body. Athletes on this page like Kyle Fitzgerald, Micah Markley, and Jackson Mires added lean weight over time, tracked as lean weight rather than a body fat target, and got faster and stronger doing it.

Did supplements drive these results?

No. Every plan starts with food. Supplements come in only when food, hydration, recovery, and sleep are in place, and only third-party tested products. See Dawn’s approach on the supplements page.

Does Dawn Weatherwax, RD, LD, LAT, ATC, CSCS work with athletes outside Ohio?

Yes. Several athletes on this page worked with Dawn remotely by video and phone, including Vijay Kumar, Ben Pierce Jr., and Molly Yacoviello. Dawn is based in Liberty Township, Ohio, and also brings portable testing to teams and events.

Does Sports Nutrition 2Go work with teams, clubs, and schools?

Yes. Dawn works with teams, clubs, schools, and organizations, from team talks and parent nights to team testing events. Reviews on this page come from the Seton High School cross country team and the Moeller High School baseball program.

Who is Dawn Weatherwax?

Dawn Weatherwax, RD, LD, LAT, ATC, CSCS, is a sports dietitian and athletic trainer and the founder of Sports Nutrition 2Go in Liberty Township, Ohio. Dawn is known as USA’s #1 Fueling Expert for Athletes Under 18 and has worked with athletes from youth teams to the Olympics, the NFL, and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

How do I find a sports dietitian I can trust?

Look for the RD or RDN credential, which you can verify for free on the Commission on Dietetic Registration registry. Then ask what they would refer out. A trustworthy practitioner names it right away, and not every answer is something they sell.

Are these real athletes and real results?

Yes. Every story on this page is a real athlete Dawn Weatherwax has worked with, shared with the family’s permission. The reviews are copied from Google, where anyone can read them.

Which sports are these athletes in?

Football, soccer, baseball, basketball, volleyball, swimming, cross country, track and field, golf, and lacrosse, from youth teams to college, the Olympics, the NFL, and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
